Officials are investigating a shooting in Phoenix that left a husband and wife dead.
Phoenix police said the shooting happened at a home near 10th Street and Indian School Road on Friday morning.
Police said the man, 30-year-old Jssus Castro-Sanchez, called his mother asking her to come over. When she arrived, she heard a gunshot and found the man and 32-year-old Maria Zarate-Garcia dead.
Police said the mother of the man told police he had called her the day before the shooting to come out and visit him, and the woman was able to do so the next day. As she approached the home she heard what she thought was a single gunshot.
Police say the man shot and killed his wife prior to his mom's arrival. No one else was inside the home at the time of the incident.
