PHOENIX — A 61-year-old pedestrian was killed in a crash early Monday morning in Phoenix.
Police say the victim was struck near 19th and Sweetwater avenues around 7 a.m.
The victim had reportedly walked into the curb lane of traffic and was hit by a vehicle headed southbound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 56-year-old man, stayed at the scene and was not hurt.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
