A woman was killed after being hit by a car in Phoenix on Sunday night.
Police were called to the area of 16th and Roosevelt streets Sunday night after the woman was struck by the car.
A Phoenix police spokesman says the woman, identified as Monica Henley, walked into the street when the incident occurred.
One driver was able to avoid hitting the woman but a second driver was unable to. Police say the 69-year-old man stayed on the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
Henley was taken to a hospital where she passed away.
Neither speed nor impairment appear to have been a factor in the accident, authorities said. It's unknown if charges are expected to be filed.
