FBI gives tips for active shooter situations

Posted

‘Run, hide and fight’ are the three words the FBI wants the public remember in case of an active shooter.

On the FBI’s website, agents posted video demonstrating how to respond to an active shooter.

First, always try to escape. Don’t listen to others who are insisting you stay.

If you can’t run, the next best option is to hide in the most secure area you can.

If you can’t get inside a closet or a locked room, take shelter behind a large object like a desk.

Also, make sure your cell phone is on quiet.

The last option is to fight the attacker but only if your life is in danger.

The FBI gives these tips:

· Attempt to incapacitate the shooter.

· Act with physical aggression.

· Improvise weapons.

· Commit to your actions.
