PHOENIX — It's not surprising that we have blowing dust, high temperatures and rain during the monsoon, but sometimes monsoon storms can leave us with surprisingly big messes to clean up.
Cities around the Valley are offering sand and bags ahead of monsoon storms to help you protect your home against flooding.

APACHE JUNCTION:
Sand and bags are located year-round at:
-Fire Station 261: 1135 W. Superstition Blvd, Apache Junction 85120
-Fire Station 262: 3955 E. Superstition Blvd, Apache Junction 85119
-Fire Station 264: 7557 E. Hwy 60, Gold Canyon 85118
AVONDALE:
Public Works provides sand and bags free of charge to residents at the Municipal Operations Service Center at 395 E Lower Buckeye Road.
Residents are asked to bring their own shovel to fill sandbags. Anyone needing assistance filling sandbags should call Public Works at 623-333-4400. More information can be found here.
CAVE CREEK:
Sand bags are available during the monsoon, by appointment only, by calling Marshal Stein 480-488-6636. Pick up (by appointment only) is available at 37622 N. Cave Creek Rd.
CHANDLER:
Chandler Fire Department will provide sand on an as-needed basis. They do not have a standing location, but will announce a location as well as what will be provided should the need arise.
FOUNTAIN HILLS:
The Town of Fountain Hills has sand and bags available to town residents, provided by the Public Works Department. The pile and bags are located behind Fire Station 1 located at 16426 E. Palisades Blvd.

GILBERT:
Sand and sand bags are located at several fire stations:
-Fire Station 1: 2730 E Williams Field Rd., Gilbert,
-Fire Station 3: 1011 E Guadalupe Rd., Gilbert
-Fire Station 9: 3355 E Ocotillo Rd., Gilbert
GLENDALE:
Sand and bags are available for free during the summer storm season at three locations. Folks will need to bring their own shovel.
-Bonsall Park North: Northeast corner of 59th Avenue and Bethany, next to the Hockey Rink
-Orangewood Park: Northeast corner of 55th Avenue and Orangewood, entrance off of Orangewood
-Fire Station 153: 14061 North 59th Avenue
GOODYEAR:
Residents must bring their own shovel to Goodyear sandbag locations during monsoon:
-Thomas Park: Thomas Rd & 144th Ave, Goodyear (east parking lot)

QUEEN CREEK:
Bring a shovel and only fill bags half full:

SCOTTSDALE:
Currently there are no sandbag stations set up, but will be once the forecasts shift to the normal monsoon pattern. Information on when the locations will be open will be posted on the website when it happens.
-Scottsdale Police Station Parking Lot: 7601 E McKellips Rd., Scottsdale
-Scottsdale North Corporation Yard: 9379 E San Salvador, Scottsdale
-Scottsdale Solid Waste Transfer Station: 88th Street and E. Union Hills Drive, Scottsdale
SURPRISE:
The Surprise Public Works Department provides sand and bags free of charge to Surprise residents in the event of flooding. Residents are asked to bring their own shovel to fill the bags. Anyone needing assistance should call Public Works at 623-222-1900.

-Ashton Ranch Water Supply Facility: 15151 W. Greenway Road

Tempe will have two locations again, providing sand, bags and shovels for Tempe residents starting June 1. More information can be found here.

WICKENBURG:
The Town of Wickenburg will continue to provide sandbags and sand at the Public Works Facility located at 500 Coney Orasco Dr.
