Phoenix Fire Department says 17 dogs trapped inside a home on fire were able to escape though a doggie door Thursday morning.
Crews responding to the house fire near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road found smoke and flames coming from the back of the home.
The fire was confined to the back bedroom where the dogs were living.
Fortunately, officials say all of the pets escaped unharmed. No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.
At this time, there is no word on how the fire started.
