PHOENIX — Snow is in the forecast for the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix. Snow Week kicks off Thursday, featuring 100 tons of snow during the 7-day event.
Crews were out preparing early Thursday morning making it snow at the Heritage & Science Park. The eighth annual Snow Week is December 26 - January 1.
Frolicking in the snow is included with general admission to the Science Center. Additional tickets needed for special Snow Week activities, Irene P. Flinn theater films, Dorrance Planetarium shows, Evans Family Skycycle and featured exhibition.
Sari Custer, chief curiosity officer at the Science Center, says there will be activities and giveaways happening outside as well as inside the center.
"We hope people come for the snow and stay for the science," said Custer. "Inside the center, we've got theme days happening all week long, including sweets science, sports science, gross science and not to miss our special exhibition right now, which is Victoria the T-Rex. That's the largest and most complete T-Rex touring the world making her world debut here in Phoenix."
