Between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday morning, one of our cameras pointed southeast near Queen Creek captured a white streak appearing to ascend into the atmosphere.
After that, some viewers reached out to ABC15 to see if we knew what it was.
We reached out to the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, which held a test launch last December, and confirmed that they had no launch of any kind Thursday morning.
We then reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration they said the streak was likely a plane's contrail, which according to ABC15 meteorologists, are condensation trails we typically see behind airplanes or rockets.
Mystery likely solved.
