Two people were sentenced Friday to a combined 59 years in prison over the 2012 daycare death of a two-year-old girl.
Ryan Reed and Allison Clement pleaded guilty to the death of Savannah Cross.
The two ran an unlicensed daycare in Phoenix and were caring for Cross when she died.
Reed was sentenced to 35 years in prison and lifetime supervised probation. Clement was sentenced to 24 years in prison and lifetime supervised probation.
Court records show Reed admitted to stomping on the girl among other forms of abuse.
According to a report from the county's medical examiner, the girl died from multiple traumatic injuries, acute methamphetamine exposure and dehydration.
Cross’ mother left her with Reed and Clement for days at a time, Cross’ father and grandmother said.
Cross was weeks away from her third birthday when she died.
