Two teens arrested, accused of shooting 66-year-old man in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Two teenagers have been arrested and police are looking for two more suspects related to an investigation into the shooting of a 66-year-old man in Phoenix, police said.

Police said the shooting happened Friday morning near 7th Avenue and Southern.

According to police, four suspects approached the man's vehicle and attempted to rob him at gunpoint. During the attempted robbery, the suspects apparently fired shots into the vehicle and struck the man.

The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Two of the suspects, both 15 years old, were arrested at the scene. Two other males ran away, police said.

One of the missing suspects is 20, police said. The age of the other suspect is unclear. No additional suspect descriptions were released.

Police said the two teens who were arrested are facing charges of attempted second-degree muder, armed robbery, discharging a firearm at a structure, and minor in possession of a firearm.
