UPS taking steps to protect deliveries in Arizona this holiday season

Posted

Cyber Monday is over and Arizonans are waiting for packages to be delivered to their homes.

However, this holiday season, UPS is taking extra precautions to ensure that gifts aren’t being swiped from doorsteps.

ABC15 reporter Jason Volentine tagged along with Mike, a UPS driver, to see how he approaches deliveries during the holidays.

Mike will stop delivering if he suspects another driver is following him. Instead, he’ll pretend to focus on something else – and if necessary he’ll call a supervisor, or even police.

Additionally, if a home has been targeted by thieves before, Mike won’t leave expensive packages outside. Those deliveries he requires a signature for. Instead, the items are dropped off at a UPS location for pickup.
