Valley business taking action to help homeless community in Phoenix

One Valley business is taking action to help those in need in our community.

Members from Nextiva Cares showed up at Central Arizona Shelter Services, or CASS, to roll up their sleeves. The volunteers donated their time and efforts to help sort out clothes that have been donated to the shelter.

The shelter gets shirts, shorts, pants and other donations here to help the homeless.

The closet is a critical service for CASS.  This time of year a lot of the clients want shorts and t-shirts to stay cool but many also want professional clothes in case they go for job interviews.

Nextiva Cares volunteers say helping out is what their company and CASS are all about.

Mollie Jahnke says, “They are definitely very interested in the community and helping give back any way they can, especially with the homeless community. We try to work with...many different organizations as well.”

A lot of CASS's clients are men but they get more women's clothing donations. Now that the temperatures are going up, every donation is that much more critical.
