Woman, 91, dies in Phoenix house fire; caretaker also burned

A woman was killed and another injured in a house fire early Tuesday morning. 

Fire crews from Scottsdale and Phoenix responded to the fire that broke out at a home near 60th Street and Thomas Road. 

According to Phoenix Fire officials, a 91-year-old woman was inside the home at the time of the blaze. She was pulled out in extremely critical condition and later died at the hospital. A caretaker in the home was treated for burns to her neck and arms. 

The fire reportedly started in the carport area and spread to the rest of the home. The cause has not yet been determined.
