A woman says her apartment A/C won’t work and hot days have made her 1-month-old daughter sick.

Kenia Miranda lives at the Bella Norte apartments off 19th and Northern avenues. She says for the past month, her A/C stops working for days. Even when it does work, she says her apartment never gets cool enough.

“At night she would breathe really badly and I just couldn't sleep because I was thinking, 'Oh what if she stops breathing and I'm not awake and I won't notice,'” said Miranda.

We went inside Miranda’s apartment and her A/C was blowing. But our temperature gauge shows it gets over 75 degrees in her bedroom and sometimes it's in the 80’s. That’s where her daughter sleeps in a crib.

We asked Bella Norte management about the A/C problems. A manager told ABC15 a work order is in for a part that’s been broken. But they insist that no other residents have any A/C problems.

When asked if the property is doing everything that tenants ask for.

”Yes we are we are doing everything we can for our residents and we're on top of all of our work order with them,” said property manager Norma Olivas.

Miranda’s baby has seen a doctor that says her breathing issues are from being exposed to warm temperatures. Right now she uses a breathing mask every eight or so hours until she improves. Miranda says her family is looking at moving out.
