'Youth for Troops' collecting items to send to U.S. troops

Posted

Some valley youth are making the most of their summer, supporting the men and women of our armed forces.

Youth For Troops, founded by six Arizona teenagers collects items and sends them to United States Military members stationed all over the world. They need your help though in supporting their mission.

They are always looking for donations of hygiene items and food to go in the care packages that are sent out. Items include everything from beef jerky, coffee & tea to microwave popcorn and sunflower seeds. Along with soap, shampoo and their most requested item, foot powder.

To help the effort you can volunteer on the second Monday of every month at the Outlets at Anthem in the community room, suite 360 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and help pack boxes. You can also sponsor postage as it costs the organization $1,500 every month to send 100 boxes.
