PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a juvenile was shot near 35th and Northern avenues Friday night, and while police investigated the scene, a man allegedly stole their police vehicle.

Authorities said the boy had non-life threatening injuries.

The exact age of the boy is currently unknown.

Several juveniles were reportedly detained fleeing the area and multiple handguns were recovered after the shooting.

It's not clear what led up to the shooting.

While police were investigating the shooting scene, they say a man broke the window out of their patrol car and drove off in the police vehicle.

The man, later identified as 20-year-old Isaiah Orozco, was detained as he attempted to run from the vehicle.

None of the people detained in connection with the shooting have been identified.
