PHOENIX — Monsoon storms converged on the Valley from the east Wednesday night, bringing the usual mix of dust, wind and spots of heavy rain.
At least 9,000 customers were without power in the far southeast Valley, and some areas of east Mesa received up to an inch of rain in an hour.

STORM DAMAGE IN GLENDALE. Lightning struck the tree in this home's front yard, sending limbs and branches everywhere. It's hard to see, but tree parts crushed three parked cars and also damaged the roof of the home. Luckily, no one was injured. #abc15 pic.twitter.com/PiEPdt4s7z
