Nearly 12,000 people were without power Friday night in North Phoenix.
Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, ABC15 viewers started reporting power loss in the area of SR 51 and Bell Road.
APS reported 11,973 customers without power from Danbury Road to Larkspur Drive and 19th Place to Tatum Boulevard.
The outage blackened homes, businesses and even intersections inside the impacted area.

An online outage map said the outage was due to a service interruption to a major power line.
According to APS, power was restored around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.
