PHOENIX — A 12-year-old boy died after he was hit by a vehicle in north Phoenix Friday evening near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
Officials say the boy was crossing the road mid-block when the crash happened.
The boy was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Officials say the driver remained on scene and was evaluated for intoxication, though no signs were observed. Speed does not appear to be a factor.
No arrests have been made in this incident.
The crash continues to be under investigation.
