PHOENIX — Firefighters worked to control a brush fire that sparked in north Phoenix Wednesday.
At about 11:30 a.m., Phoenix fire crews were called to the area of Loop 101 and State Route 51 for reports of smoke.
Fire officials say the flames were fueled by wind and charred up to three acres as it moved west toward Loop 101.
Loop 101 to SR-51 southbound was closed temporarily.

No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
