PHOENIX — Service for many Cox customers in the Phoenix area was impacted Wednesday night by a cut cable.
In a statement, a spokeperson said workers digging for Verizon cut into a fiber optic cable in Phoenix. Cox's line was not properly marked, the spokesperson said.
The company denied customers experienced an outage, but said internet and video quality was degraded.
A message in the company's app notified some customers that there was an outage.
On Twitter, the company's representatives thanked numerous Valley residents for their patience while crews worked to resolve the issue.
“Thank you for reaching out to the Social Media Team for support. My apologies for the service disruption. We are aware of the issue and have multiple fix agents assigned. We appreciate your patience.”
The video reception problem was fixed by 8:30 p.m. and the internet was resolved shortly after 9 p.m., Cox said.
