The family of an Arizona mother suspected of killing her three young sons has spoken about the incident.

Relatives of 29-year-old Octavia Rogers thanked family and friends for the outpouring of support they have received since Rogers was arrested earlier this month.

The victims' grandmother Tanella McCoy described Rogers as a mother who loved her children unconditionally.

"There is nothing she would not do for her boys and for me," she said. "I'm ready for the fight because that's my baby and I love my daughter."

Authorities say officers found the bodies of Rogers' sons stabbed to death in a closet after the suspect's brother called 911 when Rogers stabbed herself in the abdomen and neck. The boys were ages 2 months and 5 and 8 years old.

Roger's brother told police that she recently began researching various religious ideologies and was screaming about "the creator" during the incident, according to a police report.

Rogers was charged with three counts of first-degree murder last week. She's being held in lieu of a $1 million bond. Her next hearing is scheduled for June 15.

Victims' attorney Benjamin Taylor declined to comment on details in the case because of an ongoing investigation.

It was not immediately clear if Rogers has an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
