FD: 1 dead, 2 injured after crash at 7th St and Dunlap

PHOENIX — Phoenix firefighters are investigating a deadly crash at the intersection of 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue Wednesday evening.

Officials say they responded to a three-vehicle crash at around 5 p.m.

A white sedan traveling south bound on 7th Street and attempting a left turn and was hit by a truck. The impact caused the sedan to crash into a white mini van.

The occupant of the truck was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. In the sedan, a female driver was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and a male passenger, later identified as Fernando A. Hernandez, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two occupants of the mini van were uninjured in the collision.

Phoenix police are investigating the cause of the collision and say impairment is unknown at this time.
