A young boy was ejected and six other people were hurt in a crash in north Phoenix, according to officials.

Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Jake van Hook said crews responded to the scene near 7th Avenue and Bell Road just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Van Hook said two SUVs were involved in the rollover accident at the intersection.

A 3-year-old boy from one of the vehicles was thrown from the car, and a 2-year-old girl was found on the vehicle floorboard. Both were taken to the hospital in extremely critical but stable condition. A 2-month-old girl from the same vehicle was found in critical but stable condition in an infant carrier.

Van Hook said a man and woman from that SUV were also transported to the hospital in stable condition.

A man and woman in the second SUV were taken to the hospital in stable condition, and a child in the vehicle was evaluated at the scene.

Officials said everyone involved is expected to survive their injuries.

Phoenix police said initial reports indicate a left-hand turn violation at the intersection may have led to the crash.
