FD: 48-year-old man found dead in swimming pool near 23rd and Dunlap avenues

PHOENIX — A 48-year-old man was found dead in a swimming pool near 23rd and Dunlap avenues early Sunday morning, according to a spokesperson from the Phoenix Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a call for a drowning around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, crews found an unresponsive adult man in a backyard pool.

The man was declared dead on the scene, fire officials say.

It is unknown how long the body was in the pool.

Phoenix Police say at this time, there are no initial signs of foul play in the drowning death.
