PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating a deadly crash in north Phoenix, near 35th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Police say on Friday around 11:15 p.m. 23-year-old Timothy Romanoski was riding a 2002 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Union Hills Drive at an accelerated rate and drove through the intersection at 35th Avenue.
At that time, a man driving a 2016 Honda Civic made a left turn in front of the motorcycle causing the two vehicles to crash.
Romanoski hit the passenger side of the Civic and was thrown from the motorcycle, according to police.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officers say speed appears to be a factor in the crash and the investigation remains ongoing.
