Two jockeys were hurt and one horse had to be put down after an accident at Turf Paradise Saturday.
Vince Francia, GM of Turf Paradise, tells ABC15, the incident happened during the last race of the day.
About an eighth of a mile into the race, the number three horse "Brassy Pete" fell with his rider Renny Arrieta.
The horse behind him, number two, "Gotcha My Dear," and his jockey Andrew Ramgeet, fell over the fallen horse and rider.
Brassy Pete suffered a life threatening injury and had to be euthanized. Gotcha My Dear got up and is said to be fine.
Both jockeys were taken to the hospital to be checked out, but are expected to be okay.
