Police have taken a man into custody after he yelled out that he had seen someone with a handgun at a Harkins Theatre on Friday evening.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, around 6 p.m. police were called out to the movie theater near 19th Avenue and Happy Valley Road to the Harkins Theatres Norterra 14 cinema.

Witnesses told police a 44-year-old man was screaming and said someone had a gun.

The movie theater was evacuated as a result.

No one in the area saw an armed person, but they did say the man was acting erratically. Two people restrained the man until police arrived at the scene and were able to detain him.

A weapon was not located, no one was injured, but police are still investigating.
