A man was sentenced to the next 10 years behind bars stemming from the death of an off-duty Daisy Mountain firefighter.

On Friday, Maricopa County Superior Court announced Brandon Draper was sentenced to a decade in prison for the second-degree murder of 37-year-old Luke Jones.

On Jan. 21, 2017, authorities were called to Centerfolds Cabaret near 19th and Peoria avenues after receiving reports of an assault.

Video evidence showed Draper attacking Jones by pushing him to the ground and hitting him multiple times. Jones — who had a brace on his arm from a preexisting injury — was unable to defend himself, investigators determined.

Jones’ friend found him and took him to the hospital where he later died of his injury.

The cabaret’s manager, 42-year-old Timothy Piegari, was allegedly seen disconnecting surveillance video after the assault. He was also arrested for one count of hindering protective and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

Jones, who was a 12-year veteran of the Daisy Mountain Fire Department, left behind a wife and a young daughter.
