Police are investigating after an argument led to a deadly shooting Monday evening in north Phoenix.
According to Phoenix police, officers were called to the area of 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive shortly after 6 p.m in reference to two people arguing.
Witnesses say 20-year-old Ethaniel Anselmo fired at least two dozen shots into a Jeep vehicle, shooting and killing 21-year-old Jeffrey O'Connell.
According to police, shortly before the shooting, Anselmo had texted his girlfriend, who is also the victim's sister, and told her that he was going to shoot and kill O'Connell. Anselmo told his girlfriend to give the victim his address so that Anselmo could shoot O'Connell when he arrived.
The woman told Anselmo that the two should just "fight it out" instead, but Anselmo insisted that he was going to shoot O'Connell.
O'Connell arrived shortly after, and was shot multiple times while still in his Jeep. He died at the scene.
Anselmo dropped to his knees in the yard of the home when police arrived and surrendered.
Anselmo has been arrested and is facing charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
It's unclear if the victim's sister is also facing any charges in the shooting.
