PHOENIX — Police have identified 49-year-old Harry Ellsworth Stephens as the motorcyclist involved in yesterday's deadly crash in north Phoenix.
Phoenix police say Stephens was traveling northbound on Cave Creek Road when his motorcycle collided with a 2013 Toyota Corolla that turned left in front him of to go eastbound on Greenway Parkway.
Stephens and the 22-year-old passenger on his motorcycle, who were both wearing helmets, were thrown from the bike after being struck.
Police say Stephens was pronounced dead on the scene. The female passenger was taken to an area hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 71-year-old woman, did not appear to be impaired at the time of the crash, police say. Additionally, police do not believe the woman was speeding.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
