Posted

A man died after he was involved in a double shooting with another individual who was also wounded in north Phoenix Saturday.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, around 5:45 p.m. two men, who appear to be in their twenties, both exchanged gunfire outside of a home near Cactus Road and 23rd Avenue.

Officials believe a vehicle arrived to the north Phoenix home and a male occupant inside the car got out to meet another man.

Both exchanged gunfire, and each was struck.

When officials arrived, they found a man laying on the ground with a gunshot wound. That man was taken to a Valley hospital but was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Officials also located the second individual who was shot; he was transported to a hospital. His condition is unknown at this moment.

Police are investigating the double shooting, and said they have not yet ruled out whether the incident had possible ties to drug activity.
