PHOENIX — A motorcyclist is seriously hurt following a crash in north Phoenix on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the crash happened at 40th Street and Cactus Road around 7 p.m.
A motorcyclist headed westbound on Cactus Road had entered the intersection at 40th Street when it collided with a vehicle that turned left in front of him.
Officials say the motorcyclist, 20-year-old Kevin Vazquez-Teran, was taken to an area hospital in extremely critical condition. He later passed away from his injuries.
A man, who was one of five occupants in the other vehicle, was taken to the hospital with a possible injury.
Police say speed appeared to be a factor for the motorcyclist.
The investigation is ongoing.
