PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating after a suspect was shot by an officer Sunday night near 43rd Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Police say a 55-year-old man was threatening to stab people at a store and was then locked out of the store when he left.
The man then walked around the parking lot and threatened more people.
When an officer arrived on the scene, the man approached the officer and started chasing her around a car.
After refusing the officer's commands to drop the knife, the officer fired her weapon at least once.
Officials say the suspect was then transported to the hospital where he remains in stable condition and no officers were injured following the incident.
