The incident occurred at a home near Tatum Boulevard and Greenway Road around 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
Police say the victim, a man in his forties, was shot when he handed a presumably unloaded gun to another person. The gun went off and the victim was shot in the upper torso, causing life-threatening injuries.
