PD: Teen motorcyclist killed in crash near 32nd Street/Bell

Police say a teen motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a vehicle in Phoenix on Thursday afternoon. 

Phoenix police have identified the rider as 18-year-old Angel Osuna Mellan. 

Officers responded to the crash near 32nd Street and Bell Road just before 3:30 p.m. 

According to police, Mellan was traveling eastbound on Bell Road when it collided with a Toyota Prius that was being driven by a 79-year-old man. 

Police say the driver of the Prius was traveling westbound on Bell Road, turning south across the road toward a private driveway when the collision happened. 

Mellan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Prius was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. 

Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
