Phoenix police are on scene of a deadly crash involving a police officer in the north Valley.
Officials said a car going northbound crossed into the southbound lanes and struck three oncoming vehicles, including a police cruiser, near 35th Avenue and Cactus Road. The officer was not injured, but the driver that traveled into oncoming traffic has died. Another driver has serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area, as it will be closed for several hours.
