Driver ID'd in Phoenix stolen car hit-and-run

Police have identified a man arrested for driving a stolen vehicle when he hit a pedestrian Sunday night in north Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police, the suspect was identified as 30-year-old Shawn Marcas Maynor.

The victim was crossing the street shortly before 7 p.m. at 12th Avenue and Hatcher Road when he was struck by the vehicle, police said. The driver stopped briefly and left the scene.

Police said the injured man was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

With the help of witnesses, police tracked the suspect vehicle to Northern and 27th avenues where they detained Maynor.

He was booked for aggravated assault, hit-and-run and stolen vehicle.
