Three arrested after man stabbed, killed at Phoenix park

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is actively investigating a homicide after a body was found at Deer Valley Park located near 19th Avenue and Utopia in northern Phoenix.

Police say 23-year-old Isaac Clark and two friends were at the park around 1 a.m. Wednesday when they heard a vehicle being damaged.

Clark ran toward the vehicle, learning that it was his friend's vehicle, and the suspects confronted him. At that time, a physical fight began and Clark was stabbed multiple times.

He died from his injuries at the hospital.

Maurice James, 24, and Eldon Sandoval, 18, were booked into jail on second-degree murder charges. A third person, 21-year-old Chantel Ben, was booked into jail on a charge of hindering prosecution.
