A Phoenix man is accusing of chasing a jogger with an ax because he thought the jogger was someone named "Brian."
According to court records, on Jan. 26 a man went out for a jog near his home at 13th street and Thunderbird. During his jog, John Thamos Lentini, 48, allegedly pulled out an ax and began chasing the victim down the street.
The victim told police that he began to run for his life and fell down a few times trying to get away. He was able to get away and Lentini eventually threw the ax into the desert, according to documents.
When police questioned Lentini, he told them he thought the victim was a man named "Brian" who was "out to get him."
Lentini was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
