Phoenix police have released video of a deadly bar fight from last July, showing a punch that killed a Mesa Community College Football Coach.
Police say the argument on July 29 was about football teams. It started with trash talk inside of Padre Murphy's on 43rd Avenue and Bell Road.
It moved outside into the parking lot, and one man is seeing throwing a punch, knocking the other to the ground.
The man punched was Ben McIvor, who hit his head and died.
An Oakland Raiders hat and a pool of blood were left behind.
The man who threw the punch was identified by police as Henry Helms.
According to a few witnesses and Helms, McIvor followed Helms and his wife out into the parking lot after arguing inside.
Helms told police McIvor was bumping up against him, saying, "You're not going anywhere."
Helms said that's when he punched McIvor, knocking him down.
Helms drove off from the parking lot. He was tracked down by police two days later, who told him that the man he punched was dead.
Newly released police photos showed only a small mark on Helm's knuckles.
Helms was never criminally charged with a crime.
The lawyer for McIvor's family said they are still investigating and hope to file a civil case.
