PHOENIX — Phoenix police have released new surveillance video in hopes of locating a suspect who stole a car with a baby inside on Sunday afternoon.

The footage, released Monday, shows the suspect driving up to a store in the stolen vehicle and dropping the baby off inside.

Police say the vehicle was stolen from a convenience store near Interstate 17 and Camelback Road around 3 p.m.

The vehicle owner reportedly told officers he was pumping gas and was walking into the store when he noticed the suspect get in his vehicle and speed off.

The driver left his keys in the vehicle, police say.

Nearly 10 minutes later, an off-duty officer found a car seat with the baby inside near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road. The father and the baby have been re-united, and the baby has no injuries.

The man fled after dropping the baby off.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s with short curly hair, and was seen wearing a red shirt with white letters, tan shorts and black shoes, police say.

The stolen vehicle is a 2007 grey Kia Sorento with a temporary paper tag.
