A Phoenix mother is facing child abuse charges after allegedly striking one son in the face with a belt, then using the belt to choke another.
According to an arrest report, Phoenix police were called to the home near 15th Avenue and Buckeye around 7:15 pm Monday.
They found "serious visible injuries on the face of a 7-year-old boy." The boy told investigators that the night before his mother got upset with him and his siblings and they all got whooped with a black belt.
He said he was struck in the face twice with the belt. The right side of his face was bruised from his ear to his mouth. He also had a cut lip and a swollen face.
The victim's 11-year-old brother told police his mom kept the victim from school the following day because of the injuries. He also witnessed his mother hitting his brother with a belt on his face.
The five-year-old brother told police after he was hit with the belt, his mother then used put it around his neck choking him.
Taylor is being held on a $5,000 bond and is facing two counts of child abuse.
