PHOENIX — A 4-year-old boy is recovering after being pulled from water at an apartment complex near 48th Street and Ray Road Saturday evening.
Phoenix firefighters say when they arrived on scene, they found the boy in his parent's arms, crying and breathing on his own.
The child has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
It is unclear how long the child was underwater.
This was the first drowning call Saturday. Later in the day, crews responded to 7th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard to treat a 6-year-old boy who hit his head, and went underwater for nearly a minute.
This is the 20th near-drowning call in 2020.
