Looking for love? The love that comes from a four-legged pooch is special, and Maricopa County Animal Care and Control can provide that love for free!
The shelter is overcrowded, and they need the public's help.
Currently at the west side shelter located on 27th Avenue just north of Lower Buckeye Road, there are 700 dogs under their care along with 50 cats; the shelter should only hold 350 animals.
Because of the overcrowding, the shelter is offering free dog adoptions for any dog over the age of 6 months. This does not apply to cats.
The free adoptions will stop once enough dogs are adopted out to bring down the number of shelter occupants to a more comfortable range, shelter officials said.
They have many different types of dogs available for adoption, so you'll surely find your new best friend!
