Authorities are investigating a suspicious package found at a business in south Phoenix.

The incident was reported at an industrial business near 37th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

According to Phoenix police, witnesses reported that a package that does not belong the property was found. It is unknown how the package arrived at the location.

Video from ABC15 showed the package in question attached to a parachute.

According to Phoenix fire, two officers who originally responded to the scene were exposed to an unknown substance. They were evaluated at the scene and did not need to be transported.

After analyzing the powder, tests came back negative for any type of illegal or harmful substances, fire officials said.

The powder will also be sent to a local law enforcement lab for further in-depth testing, according to Phoenix fire.

"Phoenix PD's main concern is how did it get here and why did it get here," said Capt. Rob McDade with the Phoenix Fire Department.

No other information is known at this time.
