A Phoenix man walking to a Chinese restaurant with his girlfriend was stabbed and killed on Nov. 22, and his killer is now behind bars.

According to court paperwork, on around 8 p.m. German Del Bosque was walking with his girlfriend to have dinner at a nearby restaurant in the area of 7th Street and Buckeye Road.

Police say he was confronted by a man and woman on bicycles. The man, 35-year-old Jose Raphael Meza, jumped off the bicycle, punched and stabbed Del Bosque several times.

Meza and his girlfriend fled the area on their bicycles. Del Bosque later died at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Phoenix police gathered surveillance video from various businesses in the area and were able to identify Meza's girlfriend.

On Dec. 11, a search warrant was obtained by police who searched the home, which was about one mile away from where Del Bosque was killed.

Police say they found a knife in a Ziploc bag in her purse and blood stained pants inside the home.

Her boyfriend was found out to be Jose Meza, a man who had already served two years in prison for aggravated assault.

On Jan. 15, police found and arrested Meza near Central Avenue and Broadway Road.

Meza is being held without bond on one count of second degree murder.
