PHOENIX — A man has died after being shot during an argument near 16th Street and Southern Avenue Sunday afternoon.
Phoenix police say at around 1 p.m. the responded to the shooting call. When officers arrived they found a man who had been shot, and was pronounced dead on the scene by firefighters.
During the preliminary investigation, officers learned that the man had been involved in an argument with another man while driving, police say.
The deceased male confronted the other driver with a handgun, who was also armed with a handgun. Both men began shooting and the man was struck, and the other man was uninjured.
Officers say the other man was detained following the shooting.
Phoenix police say this is an ongoing investigation.
