Three people were involved in a car collision in South Phoenix, including two police officers, officials told ABC15.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, three men, all in their 30s, were injured after being involved in a car collision near 7th Avenue and Southern Road around 8 p.m.

The Phoenix Police Department said two officers were blocking the roadway while responding to another collision when a driver in a passenger truck traveling northbound hit the passenger side of a parked police car.

Two police officers were sitting inside the patrol car at the time of the t-bone collision, and both were transported to hospitals for "precautionary reasons," Phoenix police said.

The officers were working on paperwork in their patrol car at the time.

Police do believe the driver who hit the patrol car was impaired at the time of the incident.

Officials told ABC15 that the injuries the officers and the suspect received are not life-threatening.
