PHOENIX — A Phoenix police officer is recovering after a crash in south Phoenix Saturday night.
Police say the officer was driving eastbound on Baseline Road when a car turning south on Jesse Owens Road collided with the officer's patrol vehicle.
Authorities say the elderly woman driving the car that hit the officer's SUV was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
The officer was not seriously hurt and is expected to be okay, police say.
